Well, what a great show we had this year. A massive “thank you” to everyone – you turned out in your hundreds and made all the hard work and angst worthwhile. And thank goodness for lovely weather – such a huge contrast with last year’s miserable showing of a day!<\/p>\n
\u200b<\/span>Fine weather also meant all the stall-holders and entertainers\u00a0turned up as booked, so there was loads to see and do for everyone. All the feedback we have had, has been fantastic. We\u00a0have also had various suggestions and learnt a great deal from the process, so next year should be even better!!<\/p>\n \u200b<\/span>Of course, the main business of the show was carried out in the morning, before the show opened at 1pm,\u00a0that is, all the judging of the fruit, veg, flowers, eggs, cookery, drinks and arts classes as well as all the different junior classes. We were\u00a0delighted to see the entries rise significantly this year, compared with last year, which is one of the goals we had set for ourselves. The standards, as usual, were very high and we congratulate all our winners (listed below). In particular, we should mention Clover Holland, who walked away with the RHS’s Banksian Medal, awarded to the person with the most points in the fruit, veg and flower classes (apart from\u00a0the floral decoration classes). Well done Clover, you definitely deserved this accolade.<\/p>\n \u200b<\/span>It was also a great pleasure to welcome Cllr Cherry Beath, Chair of Bath and North East Somerset Council. She made a most appropriate substitute for our own Cllr Neil Butters, who was unable to attend on this occasion.
